For me, the message was not negative - you were positive about the event, but negative about some aspects of it. Maybe more in the spirit that you liked the event, was committed to it, and did not like some parts of it which could be further improved, so you commented strongly.

BTW, thanks for this post, which was interesting (and I also made it to the end) and the effort you have made in making the event easy to follow from a distance. That was great.
