In Response To: A comment about the takepoint formula (Timothy Chow)

What I'm saying is that if you strip away the verbiage about effective gammons, what you are looking at is more complicated than what I am looking at.

I am looking at a position and guessing how often it leads to an efficient recube. I don't care whether it is a take or a pass, just whether or not it is relatively efficient (e.g. I would consider a cube pretty efficient here if it came somewhere around 50-75%).

What you are saying is: figure out 1) how often you cash and 2) how often a recube is taken and 3) how often you win after redouble/take. To me this looks much more difficult than figuring out only how often an efficient recube is reached. For example many of the redouble/takes will be at the low end of the doubling window while many of the others will be at the high end.
