I wonder if anyone has proved/disproved that EPC (exact :) always gives the best position.

Since epc doesn't consider Op's position, it must indicate the wrong move in some late bear-off positions where the best move depends on making certain doubles work.

I'm too lazy to search for a more dramatic example, but here's a trivial one:

The score (after 0 games) is: North 0, South 0

Move number 11: South to play 51

North	5
South	17
Position ID: HwAAgFQAAAAAAA Match ID: UYkGAAAAAAAA

Gnu reports Blue's epc as 16.99 after 5/1 4/3 and 17.00 after 6/1. The best play is 6/1. 5/1 4/3 would be correct if White had one more checker off. (I guess this is more of a counter-example to what I described above. Sorry, I'm not too awake just yet.)
