It looks like some decent two-way gammon potential in the variations where he turns this thing around, so I'm pretty sure I'd take this as white. With Neil's excellent analysis of the match equity strategy still ringing in my ears I'm not sure I want to send a cube that will come right back at 8 if he catches even a glimpse of daylight. I'll freely admit that I'm guessing on this one, but I'm going to hold on to it here.
