Most of those aren't nicknames, those are their online screen names. Don't forget that the majority of 20-something players are foremost online players, so nobody knows who Brian Townsend is, but if you say "sbrugby" everybody goes "ohhhh... the dude from full tilt who plays high stakes head up with Phil Ivey all day...
