When I was first learning the game in France the woman who taught me how to really play was a duplication nut. There would often be arguments among the group in the chouette over these duplication plays. I don't know if people go overboard in applying it today but I can tell you in that chouette there was way too much stuplication. At the time I didn't know any better but the fact that I remember it coming up so frequently ...

I have also found that duplication is a key in a lot of opening sequences, when you can slot in the face of a double shot or 13/11 after your opponent has split 24/22 is often a case.
