If we make the 4pt, we're left with 65 54 and 52 as dangerous rolls. We also end up with a stripped position where very few rolls make a new point next turn, and many of those that do leave the same indirect shots that we'd be avoiding this turn.

If we make the 5pt, our only dangerous roll is 66, and we have more rolls that make a new point, which will make things easier in the future.

If we could be sure that White's board were going to collapse this turn, it might be right to go for immediate safety. But White usually keeps a five point board for next turn.

Making the 5pt looks clear to me.
