The way I read it he gives the impression that the the cubeful takepoint for leader is approximately the same as the raw takepoint at 24%.

The argument is that since the trailer can take at only 18% the recube vig is worth very little.

This is in my opinion true is most mid game positions where because of contact and gammons you rarely find a good recube. This is also the focus of the article.

But in races you can take as deeply as for money. Using a 24% takepoint in racing positions is a mistake, the real takepoint is about the same as for money.

The mathematics is that Ats the raw takepoint is 24%, and your opps recube takepoint is 18%. For money the raw takepoint is 25% and the opps recube takepoint about 21,5%. That makes the real takepoint for money and score about the same in races (about 21.5% - 22%)
