What rhymes with Pentium?

Don't nock Ballard? I've nocked wurst. JF level-5 (0-ply) likes closing Blue out. I thought it would. Why did the 1996 analysts settle for 1296 0-ply rollouts (which weren't variance reduced) when a stronger engine (level-6 = 1-ply using variance reduction) was available?

Time, perhaps?

Going through some filed-away backgammon positions, I came across a cube decision that had caught my interest in 1999. I had sent a position file to Alexander Nitschke, who kindly did a pair of Snowie rollouts. His email back to me advised that the result was still unclear, but 324 Snowie 2-ply trials had already taken 5 hours on his Pentium 200.
