Splitting is good and slotting is good....but a really strong slotting and building play is even gooder >>

It's less bad to Splot with 41 because its slot and build alternative isn't quite as strong, and the Splot gains more when it works because it starts the best points on both sides of the board. As I said, I make that play now and then but I don't think it's technically correct. Kind of like unsound, trappy openings in chess which work in a Class C tournament but get you squisched in an Experts or Masters event (or I would assume so, I was never good enough to play in one)
