In Response To: Unlawful Internet Gambling Enformement Act - SPA (Steve Mellen)

I guess I started this part of the discussion.

My point was that the original wording would allow a good lawyer (oxymoron :) and his client to win in a jury case by casting doubt using the skill+luck argument. The wise (ha, ha) writers played the autocratic card of making the wording so blanketing that no one could contest that the 'games' they were trying to throw out (poker, internet casino games, and sports betting) were in fact susceptible to the law.

Some of the best criminal minds around are wearing congressional (and executive branch) duds.
