ROFLMAO "There is position in Robertie's Advanced Backgammon where he teases us with the idea of playing an opening 4-1 by moving a single checker 13/8. He opines that if you are just beginning to play someone who doesn't know you, the initial first impression ("wow, what a beginner!") could pay huge dividends for the rest of the session."

Ploys like that ended with the Vietnamese War. I mean WTF..any jackass that knows enough about the game to know that 13/8 is bad, will know enough to tell that you know how to play decently after a couple of games in the session.

ROFLMAO... neilkaz ...noting Robertie is far too smart to say such BS nowadays and suspecting he stated his own BS 25 to 30 years ago as well.
