There are a lot of cheaper (but still decent) hotels in the surroundings or even in Monaco. We stayed at Cap D'Ail for 65 Euro a night, 4 km away from the center of MC with a daily bus connection (every 15 minutes) to the Casino.

Yes yes, but I save another 50E and I get to hook up with other travelers in Nice. [got double entendre!?]
