In my world, 13/9, 13/10 was worth a look. (I don't expect too many others to consider this play. As to whether that's my weakness or theirs,...)

Two plays get our back checker moving:

20/13 -- This play leaves 17 shots. For those, hitting by opps involves escaping a back checker.

20/16, 9/6 -- By contrast, 14 shots. When hit, at least one builder (probably two) are brought into range of opp's 5-point.

So what about when we're missed? Having the back checker already in safe spot is a plus for 20/13. Also, the builder-blot on the 9-point adds to our flexibility for next turn.

Bottom line is that the only advantage I find for staying on the 16-point is three fewer shots. Several other considerations favor keeping that checker moving to the midpoint. I think the rewards are worth the (three extra shot) risk.
