We are not hemmed in, behind in the race, and Black has 10 checkers in the zone, combined this means that we are not going to move from the back if we have a constructive play up front. We have constructive up-front plays, so we will move the whole roll with the idea of improving our forward position. Three candidates: 13/11 13/10, 13/10 6/4, and 7/4 6/4.

We are only 5 pips behind in the race after our roll, so 13/10 13/11 looks the most attractive as it leaves less shots. Also, 13/10 13/11 activates the midpoint checkers better than either of the alternatives, and creates rolls that make the 8-point. 13/10 6/4 is second choice, because it makes a 4.5 point board and activates a checker from the mid. 7/4 6/4 looks pure, but gives hitting and completely escaping 5s and does nothing with the midpoint checkers, and should be somewhat back behind the others.
