Kleinman is the only 'major' author I know of that has written extensively about chouette play... (OOPS, Mary Hickey definitely has...)
His stuff about chouettes and what it was like in the good-old-days in California is priceless and very humorous. Buy the two volumes of 'Vision Laughs at Counting' from Carol Joy Cole and you'll not regret it. They've reprinted his books with much nicer covers and good diagrams. These two books have lots of the chouette stuff and many technical articles as well, none of them really 'wrong' even today based on rollouts.
If you haven't read VLAC, you should. His technical analysis of short bearoffs and cube action is unmatched, especially knowing that he did it all without the aid of rollout-style computers or bearoff databases.
