To be honest it also jumped out as candidate #1 for me, but quickly the future containment didn't look that bright. The real gain is when Black escapes, we hit and he rolls a 4. Otherwise, when he enters with a 1 or 2, he'll threaten to jump for a long time, whereas if we have kept the bar and had maybe even made the 8, life will be much more difficult for him. I think the 7 is clearly better for containment, the 4 clearly better for closing out, but then we don't have enough ammo to attack (yet).

Of course, I could be all wrong and I would also be interested by a rollout.
