Pull back the reins -- let's examine:

Possible misplays when an opening 43 is played two down (43D)

  • 21
  • 41
  • 51
  • 22
  • 32
  • 52
  • 33
  • 43
  • 44

Possible misplays when an opening 43 is played the big split (43S)

  • 11
  • 53
  • 64
  • 41

I have omited plays that are mere choices, such as 43D 64? or 43S 61? (I did include 43S 41 because some people play the double hit) *Choices* means the plays, after rollout, are too close to call so it's a matter of style more than anything else. The possible misplays after a 43D far outweigh the couple lame ducks 43S has going for it.
