Racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

I still can't get over the fact that they no longer have Indy cars at Indy.
??
The Indianapolis 500 (and I hope they never stick a corporate sponsor's name on THAT) is still open wheel oval racing, just like it's been since 1911.
Maybe you are referring to the "loss" of the US Grand Prix Formula I race -- this year's June race being the last (for a while, anyway). Until 1994 there was only one annual race at Indy. Then the I-M-Speedway brass got NASCAR to come every August (this year late July). And they added Formula I around 1999 (I could look it up on Google to get the actual date, but so could everyone else :). Next September they will add motorcycle racing (on the former Formula I road course, modified a bit).
Indy car racing is alive (and mostly well) at Indianapolis.
