How close is the race, really? White's probably wasting about 8-9 pips more than Blue, which leaves it at 69 or 70 to 76. With 17 immediate winners it must be a cube. I think Blue can take it, though. Let's see, 53% of the time, Blue will be ahead in the race, though not by much. Even if he only wins 50% of those he's got 25%. The other 47% of the time he's not in terrible gammon jeopardy since he's likely to clean up a blot or two if he does enter. He'll likely lose, but he has some slime equity.
