9/6(2), 6/3, 4/1. We just rolled a pretty big number, so I don't think clearing fast is critical for the race. For this reason, I don't want to take the risk of paying off a shot next roll with a 6-1 or 6-2. Why I like this play better: 1) We may get to the point where we pay with a shot that way, but that's not the same as getting there for sure. We also might instead solve all our problems by rolling a nice double. 2) He may weaken his board, or roll two 6s and be forced to run at least one man, before we have to leave him anything. Then, we may be the ones doing the shooting with a pick and pass or even a board-closer. 3) The alternate 4 played 6/3 isn't swingin' for the race, but it's not seriously wasteful either. Certainly not a "deal breaker".
