Life Rules - need suggestions

I thought of categorizing these as Lifestyle, Relationships, Money, etc. but I didn't. Sort 'em if you want, but here goes:

Keep other people's secrets, but never tell them yours.
Learn both a profession and a trade.
Start feeding an IRA as soon as you have an income.
Don't own a television. If your family or roommates insist on one, don't watch it except once in awhile to be sociable. Optimum amount of TV time = 0.
Don't have an iPod playing a continuous soundtrack for your life.If you find the sounds of normal life overly intrusive, or you're afraid of silence, something's wrong.
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably, though not certainly, is. Do some digging and find out the whole story.
Success comes to those who are willing to walk the extra mile...alone.
The stock market is able to go either up or down.
Try on clothes before you buy them.
Never order shoes by mail or online.
Never use a payday loan service. It's better to eat Ramen Noodles for an extra couple of days than pay their usurious fees!
Speaking of Ramen, if that's what you live on, take a multivitamin at least a couple of times a week.
Don't panic if you make a mistake at work or anywhere else, even if it's quite serious. Just plan what you need to do to fix things, then do it, then get on with your life!
