My turn

Claim: Forfeiting privacy if you're not doing anything illegal is a weakly-dominant strategy.

I think certain assumptions relating to the cost of forfeiting privacy are required for the claim to actually be true, but presenting it as a game-theoretic decision made me realize that its a rational strategy for those adopting certain assumptions.

This really happened: On my way to a bg tournament in Chicago, I was pulled over while driving a rental car displaying Texas plates. I was going only 8 miles over the speed limit, and traffic was whizzing by me in 2 lanes left of me. "I pulled you over for speeding - where are you headed?" "I'm visiting town for a backgammon tournament" "Why don't have any bags?" "They're in the trunk" "Can I see them?"

There's nothing illegal in my bags... What should I do?
