Another thing I've always failed to understand, even when it's not 6:30am, is that in the BC years (ahh, the good old days) the people who inhabited this planet believed in gods. They had a god for everything, god of the sky, god of the sea, god of vegetation, moon gods, sun gods, you get the idea. I believe we're in a place where the vast majority of people, even those who do believe in a supreme being/god would say "a god for vegatation, are you off your fuckin' rocker?" Yet these same people maintain there's a god for whatever is left they can't understand...that's all gods were in the beginning, an explanation of what wasn't understood, something to pray to to have a good harvest or no floods. Thousands upon thousands of years later when we've come to understand what makes the earth go round, why floods happen, but since science can't yet explain every last thing under the sun we cling to a supreme being, an afterlife, because most of us wouldn't be able to handle the reality which is reality, you die, you're dead, gga.
