First of all I cube before this roll.

After that it's correct to lift the 7 pt. because it leaves the best distribution to attack when White is forced to run, 3 builders as opposed to two. It's also a lot more efficient for the race to lift the 7 instead of the 8 here, put one in the gap on the deuce and the crossover/spare on the six instead of 3 on the bar pt. will will produce further wastage when you bearin.
