the main point is the closeness of the race --- allowing white to bolt with a high # and a superior board is a no-no. clearing the 7 keeps the higher # blocked, starts the 2 point which will be needed if there is mutual contact, or just filling in gaps in the eventual race if no contact. big swing on white's 64 between the 2 plays.
