I'm not sure it's right, but I'd play H (Hit, bar/22 8/2*). If left alone, White can make an offensive or defensive point with all 36 numbers, whereas if she is hit, she makes a point with only 13 numbers. That should more than make up for the ugliness and greater chance of being hit (back).

Duplication exists whether Blue plays R or H, so I don't think it should play a significant role in his decision.
I became less of a stranger with this concept (many years ago) when I saw a Snowie rollout (later backed up by GnuBG and XG) showing that hitting loose on the 2pt with a 6 is the best play as early as the second roll, albeit only at gammon go. Pop quiz: What is that second roll position?
