Consulting bots

I believe ah_clem's policy is to state his thinking prior to consulting any bots. That's a policy that several people here follow, including myself, Chuck Bower, and others. Chuck even goes so far as to say that posting comments after checking a bot but without saying that you checked a bot is a form of dishonesty. I think that goes too far, but I see his point.

I'm not sure if you consult bots before you post your analysis. (I'm guessing that you do, since very few people would casually refer to a play in a tricky position like this one as "correct" without checking a bot, but that's just a guess.) In my opinion, it's fine if you do so, but your comment here sounds like you think ah_clem erred by not checking a bot before making a claim. I think that goes too far in the other direction.
