New U.S. Rules ratified

I've never actually read the rules (til now). Going to more & more tourneys I see things come up, things that are pure common sense, and wonder why we really need a set of rules. [that's rhetoric]
Question #1: If a player objects to me taking pictures of positions, what's the ruling? He always objects to me writing down the positions. He says "Just play the game". The first picture I took was a cube in the second game so it wasn't as if I was abusing this 'priveledge', it was at this time, the first photo op, that he spoke up.
Question #2: If a monitor is assigned, what are his duties?
Question #3: 3.2 - Prior to the start ("commencement", quit trying to be official lol) of a match, the backgammon board, direction of play, checker color, and seat location may be decided by rolls of the dice.
Does this mean we roll for boards, I lose. We roll for direction, I lose. We roll for checker color, I lose. We roll for seat location, I lose!? Or does it somehow mean we roll for boards and whoever wins picks the board to be played on then I, the losing player, have next choice?
4.3 - A player shall move the checkers in an unambiguous manner, using only one hand. I wish more people would do this, I don't know why I find it annoying when ppl use both hands but I do.
4.5 - A player may reposition his dice ... For everyone out there I suggest doing this at the beginning of your turn before you've even moved a checker. I often do this when I see my checkers may move where the dice are, instead of moving the checker and then kicking the die out of the way, I move the dice to the center of the board before moving.
4.7 - Error in Setup - correct prior to fifth roll. So 4 moves in we notice we had a bad starting position, how do we 'correct' it?
Question #4: 5.6 - Dead Cube - it should be clarified that a person may not recube when he owns the cube and the value of the cube would put him out (make him the winner of the match) but not his opponent.
