Bazuki Gammon.

Jim Pasko and I played a new variation this afternoon which is sounds quite simple but it truly fun and complex.

We play a normal 3 point match (if we were gamblers we might bet money on it, like maybe $100 because we are friends.). The only thing not normal is that either player may call his roll one time anytime during the match (before he rolls.)

We added two caveats. If you win the match without using your Bazuki (call your roll) you win $150 instead of $100. And if you lose the match without using your Bazuki you lose an extra $1000.

We played only two matches with many spectators who were invited to chime in with their opinions, and many people were completely wrong and Jim explained why.

For example, lets pretend you use your Bazuki and win the first game doubled and go ahead 1away/2 away Crawford. The player who is the trailer and has not used his Bazuki is actually the favorite to win the match!

Fantastic variation! Try it and you’ll see how complex particularly the cube action is if one or both players still have their Bazuki.
