Normally, I would wait a bit longer before posting the rollout, but I'm going out of town and might not be able to post while I'm away.

GNU's verdict here was very surprising to me. Not only is pointing on the 3-point wrong, says GNU, it's wrong by a lot. 23/18 8/2 is the clear winner, and maybe even Stick would grudgingly admit that 8/2 is a "defensive" 6.

I can understand the argument that Blue is ahead in the race and wants to build a safe, solid position, but to say that pointing is wrong by 0.164? Wow.

I haven't rolled out this position at gammon go, but GNU 4-ply says that even at gammon go, 9/3* 8/3 and 23/18 8/2 are TCTC. Bizarre.

I would be interested in seeing what the other bots say about this position.
