1) There was some discussion about who should be on Team World and who should play what but it all seemed to work itself out in the end.

2) Team World practiced.

3) The Danes pretended that they didn't practice.

4) Both teams played great. Denmark had by far the best of the luck.

5) The phrase 'outcoached' has annoyed Stick - as no doubt it was intended to!

6) The relative error rates speak for themselves.

I think that how much the commentary and rollouts are worth depends on the level of accompanying commentary. I can't speak for others but would have thought that commentary with a depth comparative to something like Backgammon Praxis would be worth at the very least $5-$10 a game (emphasis on 'game' not 'match'). I know that I would pay at least this.

Stick - your post sounded quite negative about the event. I can understand why as the captain of the losing team that got rolled off the table. As an outsider I would like to say that this event was by far and away the most exciting and interesting thing to happen in my backgammon playing career. I really, really hope that a promoter will pick this event up and get proper sponsorship for it before next year. It must be a very sellable format.
