Candace Mayeron

Candace was fortunate to be an integral part of Los Angeles backgammon in the iconic 1970s. She was a high profile member of Pips Club in Beverly Hills, a regular player at the Cavendish West and travelled the world playing backgammon. After sitting out the game for about 30 years, she has re-entered as Tournament Producer for the Los Angeles Open and the California Backgammon Championships, thanks to mentor (and Hall of Famer) Pat Gibson. In 2021 she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the US Backgammon Federation and in 2023 she was named Captain of the U.S. team for the WBGF World Team Championship in North Macedonia.
