I played backgammon in 1970's between sessions of bridge tournaments and at a BG-crazed college. I recently rediscovered the game -- after a 30-year hiatus -- thanks to GNUBG. I played my first full ABT event in Jan 2010 in NY, entered all the high-buy-in events, and found the experience to be thoroughly entertaining. For obvious reasons I am exactly the kind of player that you experts would want, in large numbers, padding the prize money in your ABT events. So be nice, or I'll take my dough over to the poker room and lose it there instead.
