debt situation white house

I know this is supposed to be a backgammon post. However I am very worried about the turmoil in the White House about the debt situation. As you know they could cut social security and medicare benefits. My only income is from ss as are 50 million other people.I would literally be living on the streets of ocala as I have no pension or disability income. Some of the 50 million may have other resources and some may not. What are we to do? I am not feeling sorry for myself nor am I asking for handouts as that is not my style. But I am truly worried and under a great deal of stress as I am sure several million are too about this horrible situation. I welcome any comments.A lot of my friends say it will never happen but I need some reassurance.
