Money game, Blue on roll

It occurred to me that the position shown above (introduced here) would make an interesting exercise in retrograde analysis.

Is it possible for the position above (with Blue on roll) to be reached by both sides playing well (from the beginning of the game)? If so, how? If not, why not?

[If it IS possible, I would consider it a good answer to rewind to a "stable" position (one that looks natural and doesn't leave one wondering if it would have been possible to get there via well-played moves). If you can either (a) list a well-played sequence (including cube action) from the very opening move, or (b) rigorously prove that the end position cannot be reached with strong play, that would be a great answer.]
