Money rollouts with or without Jacoby?

Stick says [ http://www.bgonline.org/forums/webbbs_config.pl?noframes;read=101757 ], responding to an inconclusive rollout I posted: "When you're rolling out early game positions especially that you might use for reference you should either do them for money/unlimited match or at an even long match score (11 points +). I don't like guessing how a 1-0 lead to 7 will effect this play and rollout."
Point understood. However, should we use Jacoby or no Jacoby for money rollouts?
I understand the idea behind the Jacoby rule is to speed-up the game, but I think it takes away a tactical element: deciding whether to double or go for the gammon.
I view this rule as an artifice. For example, why stop at 1 turn of the cube before gammons count, why not have gammons count only after 2 turns of the cube?
