extracating back checkers

I have had some problems in escaping the back checkers in my games. I can usually escape one checker and start building my inner board but then my last checker always gets trapped in a prime so that I cannot escape him and lose the game. I would like either an article or description about how to release the backmen successfully. I played several games yesterday against the bots on netgammon and found out this is the main problem I have. When and how to release them. Any articles you know that would go into this subject or explanations here would be appreciated. Thank you very much.
