Bot booboo?

The Extreme Gammon site has a couple downloadable matches [http://www.extremegammon.com/AnalyzedGames.asp ] between Snowie and XG.

Take a look at Match 1 game 2 move 3. The obvious question is whether to give up the anchor to hit in the face of the opponent's stronger board, yet keeping in mind that the hit would send a fourth checker back.

According to GNUbg 4-ply evaluation, a bot made a booboo (I don't know which bot was XG and which Snowie); the equity difference was >0.100. I have started doing a rollout and the difference is less, but hovering at >0.050.

For money, the 4-ply evaluation equity is also >0.100 (diagram below, showing players swapped so bottom player would be on roll).

The match score is 11-away 10 away (match to 11).

The score (after 0 games) is: Player_1 0, Player_2 1

Move number 3: Player_2 to play 21
