The USBGF is hosting IBC qualifiers on GridGammon

LAST CHANCE TO QUALIFY FOR U.S. PLAYOFFS FOR INTERNATIONAL BACKGAMMON CHAMPIONSHIP

Act now to be part of one of the most exciting and unique backgammon playing experiences – the International Backgammon Championships. Four players will be sponsored by the U.S. Backgammon Federation to represent the U.S. against top players from over 15 countries. The four representatives will be the top four out of 64 qualifiers competing in the U.S. Playoffs on GridGammon starting September 5. If you haven’t yet qualified for the U.S. Playoffs, the following options are open to you: · Participate in a GridGammon qualifier on Sunday August 14 at 2pm Pacific Standard Time (or 5 pm Eastern Daylight Time) by making a donation to the USBGF. Donate: $10 to be in the opening round; $20 to be in the second round; $40 to be in the third round; $80 to be in the final round. Make payment on PayPal to payments@usbgf.org with a notation indicating the funds are for the IBC playoffs and notify Joe Russell at Joe@usbgf.org that you are planning to participate. · If you prefer, you can also enter the U.S. Playoffs directly by donatiing $160 on PayPal through the USBGF account payments@usbgf.org and sending an e-mail to info@usbgf.org indicating that you wish to enter directly or send a check payable to the U.S. Backgammon Federation mailed to Karen Davis, Treasurer, 4838 Laurel Hill Place, Toledo, Ohio 43614 and send an e-mail to info@usbgf.org indicating that you wish to enter directly. · You can also still qualify by entering the IBC $20 donor pool at the two remaining ABT tournaments in Florida August 19-22 and in Wisconsin September 2-4. The player contributing to the donor pool going the furthest in the Open Division in each of these tournaments will also qualify for the U.S. Playoffs.

The 64 slots in the U.S. Playoffs are filling up fast so don’t delay. To win it, you have to be in it!

Each player may qualify up to two times.
