Chouette question

1. Three persons (identified below as 1, 2 and 3) chouette.

2. Captain [2] doubles, box [1] takes. Crew [3] does not double.

3. Crew doubles, box drops. Box and captain play on.

4. Box doubles, captain drops.

5. Thus, box beats captain but loses to crew.

6. Who should be in the box, 1 or 3?
