Chow's Checkerplay Challenge #2, part a

BGO veterans may remember that I posted a Checkerplay Challenge here some time ago. If you missed it, you can go to my website, where I've archived it.

I have now put together a second Checkerplay Challenge. Based on my experience from the first time, I am posting this second Challenge in two separate batches of five problems each, so that the quiz doesn't seem so overwhelming. The first five problems appear below; the remaining five problems appear in the next post.

I've already rolled out all these positions (along with some variants), but I will wait a few days (i.e., more than the usual 24 hours) before posting the rollouts, to give people plenty of time to take the quiz. I think it will be more fun if people refrain from posting bot content (or content that is "tainted" because you peeked at what the bot said) until after I post my "official" rollouts. Also, Giants may wish to consider giving others a chance to post first before weighing in with their opinions.
