Touch Move rule, dangers

As much as I like to play fast and get annoyed by frequent (even occasional) back and forths myself, Iīd like to point out that:
This new proposed rule is not exactly the best tool to attract new players to the game. It comforts the experienced players but penalizes somewhat the newcomers. If we are to bring new players to the game, we canīt expect them to have a photographic memory and projections of positions after the move of the checkers.
Some people are more visual than others and need to look at a position, comparing it to other options to move with the same roll.
I very much like the proposed idea of Phil Simborg, to clearly show which checkers have been moved by placing them on top of the triangles of the points, in order to be able identify them and to recollect their initial position. Once the decision is clear, the checkers move to their right position, the dice are picked up (or the clock is pressed) and the game continues.
