Touch Move rule, dangers

Chess has no trouble attracting new players. And I don't remember hearing anyone complain that he is not allowed to test out moves by playing them on the board before deciding on his actual move.

I believe the players that are most affected by a rule change are the ones that have become accustomed to using a rule prior to it being changed, and that the ones who object most to the change are the ones who have "exploited" the old rule -- from the perspective of those who prefer the new rule.
