How Many Players? Comparing Madison's Format to Pittsburgh's

How many players entered each division? How many rounds were played on Saturday and how many on Sunday?

How is the format similar to and different from Pittsburgh's?

One difference is that Madison takes three days to complete the event while Pittsburgh takes only two days. Pittsburgh is run over a holiday weekend (Presidents' Day), but they do not take advantage of it and they do not play on Monday. I have been intending to ask and suggest to Rob Maier, "Why don't you give yourself and the participants more time and extend play through Monday?"

I realize that Pittsburgh starts on Thursday, but I bet many people would love it if Pittsburgh ran through Monday. That would allow the schedule to become a bit more relaxed.

For the record, I love both tournaments (Madison and Pittsburgh) and I feel that both are run very well.
