I am surprised that nobody seems to favor the table PC solution. I have never done it that way, but my wife has Backgammon NJ on her iPad and entering moves with it is very efficient indeed. Once the match is over one can e-mail it in .mat format. I still have to check whether one can use manual dice, but I would be surprised if one couldn't.

I doubt that any tablet software would allow for illegal moves. Did you plan on enforcing legal moves ?
