(Non-consulting until there's an accepted cube) also puts some of the responsibility on each and every player in the chouette.

I seldom play chouettes and never for serious money. Having apologized for entering this discussion under those conditions, after reading Leo's initial post and before reading responses my initial reaction was "is it as simple as that??" Thanks to Stick (and also Steve) for pointing out that it isn't.

Timothy also gets a prize for bringing up important points (and apparently misunderstandings) regarding the Jacoby Rule. Since I'm not a money player I ignore it (to the point of turning it off for rollouts) but I agree with him 100% that if you know what you are doing, the chances it even matters is so small that it comes up less than one handful of fingers worth in a lifetime. And if you don't know what you are doing..., learn.
