Ethical Quandary

Imagine that you are an aficionado of a table game. Imagine that you are entered in a national tournament against a player that seems to be guilty of uxoricide. You don't know know whether the guy is guilty or not but you feel like you would like doubts to be cleared before you play the table game against the guy again. Are you justified in withdrawing from the tournament to avoid playing the guy?
