Clock Ruling

This came up at the Beltway BG Club today. Club times are 2.5/15. I was playing with a Chronos clock, which allows different delay times. In a 7 point match, just before the score hit 5-5, I noticed that my delay was only 5 seconds, while my opponent had the normal 15.

OK, cue the peanut gallery. "How could you possibly not notice that? What kind of brain dead BG player doesn't notice." I dunno... I just didn't notice. I *did* notice I seemed to be burning a heck of a lot of time.

So now, at -2/-2, I've only got about 2 minutes of reserve time, while my opponent has about 8. We resolved it without a ruling -- we agreed to just stick 8 minutes on both clocks and fix the delay time.

But, suppose there's really a disagreement on what to do... how would you rule?
