The guy can't count are you sure he knows 78 to 90 is a drop?

You should cube and accept whatever the outcome is. If the opponent recounts he has no obligation ethically in my opinion to let you take back the double. (and that's probably illegal in tournament play) Either you were too lazy to count and accepted his count as true, you counted and got the same wrong count as he did, or counted and got the correct count and decided to turn the cube anyway after his announced miss count. Whatever the scenario, if you cube there is no reason he should offer to let you take it back.

If after cubing the opponent said "ha ahhhhhhhhhh" (because I stabbed him in the face immediately when he started laughing) he is leaps and bounds more unethical.
